The Former Coach of Mohamed Ali, Angelo Dundee, DIES, at Tampa at the Age of 90 Years

Angelo Dundee, Figure of boxing has become well known by being the coach of Mohamed Ali for over more than 20 years, died on Wednesday, 1st of February 2012, at Tampa (Floride) at the age of 90 years.  According to Miami Herald, Dundee died from a heart attack when he was a taking a rest after coming back from a hospital where he was admitted because of the formation of blood clot.
                For more than 40 years, Dundee was working with the 15 winner of the World title, among them there is the legendary Sugar Ray Leonard and George Foreman, but it is mainly due to the long partnership with Ali, whose name was still Cassius Clay, when he became the coach in 1960, that made him famous.
                He has been in Ali’s corner when he was facing his most iconic matches, especially “The Rumble in the Jungle” versus Forman in 1974 at Zaire or the “Thrilla in Manila” versus Joe Frazier at Philippines.  Considered as a fine strategist, he worked with Sugar Ray Leonard in the beginning of 1976 and won win him some of his most beautiful matches before helping Forman to with his Heavyweight title in 1994 at the age of 45 years. Two weeks before his death, Dundee went to Louisville (Kentucky) for celebrating the 70th birthday of Ali.
